Marquee Property Image
Marquee Property Image
In addition to recomposing for a more expansive and welcoming facade, the property walls were carefully lit a small section at a time and captured in multiple exposures in order to bring out the natural vibrant colors not present in the "old" version. Care was taken to reduce clutter overall, while the pool and sky were "punched up" to look more appealing and inviting. Interior lighting was carefully balanced for a more naturalistic and accurate representation.
Bamboo Forest
Bamboo Forest
In the heart of the property is a long corridor containing a lush bamboo forest that required multiple exposures and sectional lighting to create the final composite image. Care was taken in post-processing to bring out the greenness and lushness of the bamboo leaves while showcasing the tranquility of the flowing stream that bisects the property. Careful color-correction was performed to emphasize the warmth and appeal missing in the "old" image.
Stream & Garden
Stream & Garden
To emphasize the nature-inspired landscaping throughout the property, we took care to showcase the diverse flora and deciduous trees along the stream. The composition was designed to also feature more of the building facade and the blue sky above which were all obscured in the "old" version.
Cabanas
Cabanas
Two of the unique features of the property are the colorful cabanas and comfortable patio furniture within. While harsh shadows and visual clutter dominate the "old" image, the "new" improved one emphasizes the spaciousness and vibrant colors of the cabanas while conveying their close proximity to the pool and spa.
Single Bedroom
Single Bedroom
One of the key aspects of a successful bedroom image is to effectively capture the spaciousness and the warmth of the space. Given the same ambient room lighting, we avoided the use of the electronic flash in order to emphasize the warmth and coziness without the flat over-lighting of the "old" version. The result is a much more pleasing and inviting ambiance for this bedroom.
Living Room
Living Room
One of the key aspects of a successful living room image is to effectively capture the spaciousness and the layout of the space. By setting up the camera at one corner of the living room and shooting diagonally across it, we achieve a more spacious impression and a richer and dimensional image.
Dining Room & Kitchen
Dining Room & Kitchen
In the "old" version, the dining area is largely obscured by the over-sized granite kitchen counter. By simply relocating to a different spot, we were able to capture not only the dining room, but also the kitchen and the corridor leading to the master bedroom. The result is a more balanced and spacious representation of the same space. Careful color-balancing also removes the unappealing fluorescent green cast in the kitchen.
Bathroom
Bathroom
With large mirrors dominating the bathroom, it is easy to over-light or end up with blinding glare from the electronic flash. By utilizing only existing bathroom lighting and expertly color-balancing with ambient lighting, the unattractive tungsten orange cast common in bathrooms is eliminated and a brighter more appealing image achieved.
Entertainment Center
Entertainment Center
The entertainment center is a rather small room enclosed by 5 walls and a tall ceiling. To best create a sense of space, we shot from the far corner diagonally towards the entrance as opposed to the vantage point of the "old" version. Careful color-balancing was performed to most accurately capture the nightclub decor and ambiance of the room which was inspired by luxury hotels and resorts.
Business Center
Business Center
The "old" version of the business center utilized a ceiling-bounced electronic flash which has the ill-effect of rendering the room flat and cold. And by shooting along one of the walls, the view of the bamboo forest out the window is lost. To remedy this, we instead shot diagonally towards the far corner of the room which benefited by opening up the view out the window. By not over-lighting, the cozy ambiance is preserved and the harsh color-cast corrected.
Fitness Center
Fitness Center
Even though the "new" vantage point is similar to the "old" version, by elevating the camera a few feet up effectively opened up the fitness center to better reflect its spaciousness and layout. The greenish cast of the ceiling lights was also carefully balanced and warmed for a more appealing ambiance.
BBQ Grills & Picnic Area
BBQ Grills & Picnic Area
The high vantage point of the "old" version has the undesirable effect of miniaturizing the BBQ grill area. Instead of showing the beautiful landscaping behind the grills, this angle favors the rather bland graveled flooring. We remedy this by simply photographing from a lower angle to "humanize" it while showcasing the colorful Fall foliage in the background. Additionally, a wider angle reveals the picnic tables and chairs adjacent to the grills.

In today's highly competitive world of digital photography, it is no longer enough to simply compose, light, and capture an image.  Expertise and care in post-processing is what separates mediocrity from a stunning image that helps sells the product.

The following is a demonstration of existing images from an actual client's website (labelled "old") next to ones we have captured and expertly post-processed ("new") of the same client property.  See for yourself the difference we can make for your images.
